SIR stands for Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls. It’s a comprehensive update by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure the voter list is accurate ahead of the 2026 elections. A draft voter list was published on 23 December 2025 after house-to-house verification.

Before the final list is issued (expected February 2026), you must check your name in the draft voter roll and fix any issues during the Claims & Objections period. The Economic Times
